I have the same rule with my firearms. No rings.I never thought about ring fingers on wrapless shafts.
I have a pretty good scratch on the front strap of a classic Beretta from a buddy that was wearing a stainless steel ring.

If you have a decent case, this shouldn't be an issue. There is no way to protect a cue against every tiny battle scar, if you actually intend to use it.I have been thinking about getting a really nice Butt (wrap-less). But I have noticed that light scratches are almost unavoidable. Granted they usually happen to the clear coat on top of the paint/stain. I don't want to wear out the clear coat with constant buffing either. So, the question is:
Has anyone ever wrapped there butt with a clear wrap similar to car vinyl?
or Used a ceramic coat?
or have another Idea to protect the finish. Like a flexible screen protector?
I am more impressed by the man who plays with a $8000 dollar cue instead of locking it up in a windowed closet. If you have a decent case, this shouldn't be an issue. There is no way to protect a cue against every tiny battle scar, if you actually intend to use it.

There are certain cues that I wouldn't take certain places.I am more impressed by the man who plays with a $8000 dollar cue instead of locking it up in a windowed closet.
I'll be even more impressed if he'll let me play with it.I am more impressed by the man who plays with a $8000 dollar cue instead of locking it up in a windowed closet.
That's funny. I recently came across an old picture of myself playing with my Joss in a notoriously dangerous dive bar. Somebody got killed with a knife there one night. Probably shouldn't have been taking it there...especially playing for money. Last guy I played there couldn't pay so I took his Predator. Traded it on AZB for a C series McDermott and It's George case. Only Predator I ever owned. Nice cue, don't miss it.There are certain cues that I wouldn't take certain places.
