Butt size reduction

I have a GK cue that i'd really like better if butt sleeve section was smaller. Can this be reduced/turned down without refinishing entire butt? Cue has nice leather wrap and i'd like to just reduce size from bottom of wrap to end of butt cap.

It can be done but usually the taper is adjusted in the wrap area and worked towards the back. Certain care should be given. If not done properly, the butt won't roll straight. If GK is Greg Kacharski, I would ask him and also how he feels about it. Some Cue makers might prefer to make another cue because, it can be tricky
