By itself, a little thing is just a little thing, but a bunch of little things added together can be a BIG thing. There are lots of little things than can vary from butt to butt. The mechanics of cues is very complicated, and people analyzing them have only just begun in the scheme of things, compared to what's known about the equipment used in Olympic sports, for instance.

Let a really big manufacturer of sports gear get seriously involved in our sport, and who knows what would happen....

Usually if you put a good shaft on any butt and it will play good.

Everything else is just prefernce., weight, balance and feel.

A friend of mine had a Balabushka shaft (30 yr old shaft) on a meucci butt. The cue shot great.

Is it cheaper or even possible to buy a butt by itself?
