I get the butterflies, My hands shake my voice changes my aim goes down the toilet.
I have played some good players and done good if I dont know who they are. Or I am so busy I dont time to really focus on how much money we are playing for.
I know this sounds strange but here is a example.

4 years ago 2 of my friends and my wife and I we all jump on our bikes and cruise over to Elko Nevada to play in this thursday night tourney, and spend a couple days checking out the Ruby mountains.
One of my buddies john picks up this gal that is so drunk that ever word she says is not even worth listening too.
Somewhere around 20 miles east of Elko we lose John and this drunk gal.
This gal was just not nice to be around very sarcastic. Plus she was so screwed up that she had here helmet on backwards
Because my friend john had a one track mind ,getting ( laid ) and a very bad habit of just doing his own thing without saying anything . We pushed on into Elko.

The tourney is going to start in about 45 minutes when I get a call from john. The drunk Gal lost her helmet somewhere on the free way and now John is stuck on the free way because he doesnt want to get a ticket.
So I jump on my bike to take this drunk girl a helmet.

We got back just in the nick of time to start the tourney .
I figured my focus was gone and I wasnt a happy camper about this drunk gal that is now starting a fight with my wife.

I am just getting ready to break when I here the drunk gal call my wife a b****. I walked over to this drunk gal and told her that I am no gentleman.
That if she says one more word to my wife that was going to punch her lights out........................

I dont know if I have every played a better match or tourney I think I only missed 2 or 3 time the whole tourney. You would of thought I was pro and on TV.

I can live without the butterflies any suggestions.

i don't see the problem.

just bring your wife to every tourney with a b****y attitude
and inevitably, someone will call her a b****.

ta da! no more butterflies.

I see your problem, Mike. Clear as mothers milk. All you need is an incentive.
Next time, instead of going to all the good time and trouble of hiring a drunk woman, do what I do. Have one of my ex-mother-in-laws come over. Any one of the three are gauranteed to piss you off in a heartbeat. And if it's a really big tournament, then I suggest having two of them show up. If a couple of these old bags can't get your juices flowing, nothing can. Glad I could help.
