Buyback guarantees from cue dealers

It's my understanding that a lot of the cue suppliers, that sell to pool hall pro shops or retail stores, offer semi-consignment arrangements whereby the retailer will purchase the cues upfront, and if they dont sell some of them over a period of X months, the cue supplier will buy them back for the same price from the retailer.

We're seriously considering offering similar terms in our upcoming PoolTees wholesale catalogs. We've gotten lots of feedback from retailers that they'd love to sell our products but don't want to have to sit on the extra inventory after the initial buying surge.

That being said, I'd like to get a look at the terms that these suppliers offer, so we can have a template to which we can model our consignment arrange off of. Do any of you have a copy of a catalog with similar terms? If so, please let me know, and I'll send you a PM with my fax number.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Please don't hesitate to also share general thoughts on these sorts of arrangements in a response to this post. Thanks.

umm, anyone? all I'm really looking for is the text of that section of their catalogs to use as a template. thanks.

buy backs

Buy back or exchange does help the room owners. Customers always want to see something new and if they know it won't be there forever it helps them to buy it now.

On the same topic Axiom Billiards had a deal like that and I sent back a little over $1000 at wholesale almost 2 years ago and got nothing. No exchanges no buyback and no returned calls.

Consignment doesn't get you paid for your merchandise or guarantee you will get it back. Nice idea to offer returns but I'd get payment up front and definitly get a signed contract for however you choose to setup the deal.

Make sure to package shirts in plastic bags so if they do come back they won't be yellow from cig smoke.

It has been noted. Thank you sir! I appreciate your input and everyone elses. We'll have a new catalog with buyback terms available very shortly.

Send me an updated catalog please! We're ready to stock up for the holidays. Every one in my straight pool league LOVES the Local 14.1 shirt you sent us. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
