Buying Diamonds at tournament's

Even at $250, that's a score if you want to restore one. You can put $2,500 into it and have a top notch table. It's exactly what I did but my price of entry was $400.
You're an exception to the rule of most buyers of used, worn out GCs. Most buyers today want the best playing table their money can buy, only they want it on THEIR budget, NOT for what I invest into the table to get it into that playing condition! So all I could do is buy the tables, flip them for the delivery and set up money, bring them up to $1800-$2000 in sale value, because that's the limit of their budget, not worth my time!!

I'm not a table flipper, so I passed on the chance to pick up 6 GC3s for $2,000! For the amount of labor and costs to fix them up right, trying to get my investment back by selling them to people looking for the CHEAP deals, I'd never get my time and money invested back, so why bother??!!
It is a lot of work and a lot of space to take up but for someone interested in a table that may be a "lifetime" table, buying an inexpensive Gold Crown that needs work and investing the time (if you have the skill) and money to restore it is a good way to go. Absolutely nothing wrong with a well sorted and setup Gold Crown.

So for $250 you think they played like new for everyone that scored buying them? Worn out pool tables don't have much value, unless you sink money into them afterwards to bring them back to life!!!

Believe the Gold Crown were fine, they old but worked. They were in tip top shape.

Also if some one dropped something into pocket, it did not go into black hole.

Personall like the Brunswick Table better, JMHO

GLEN PLEASE DEFINE PLAY.

GC3's may be not as well regarded by mechanics but i've played on a bunch that played great. My friend in Dallas bought a piano-black one after a women's tournament. Fantastic looking/playing table.

Think is Table is level, Cushions Bank well & evenly. Plus cloth is in good condition, it is all good.

Gold Crown was standard of excellence for ever.

PLAY, is defined by all those club members going to that facility to play pool on those tables, who bitch and complain enough to the management about how terrible the tables are, and that they pay fees to that establishment for being there, so THEY, being the majority of members frequently using the facility, insisted the management do something about the tables they were tired of playing on, SO, with the members in mind, they bought NEW DIAMOND POOL TABLES!

You don't even own a pool table at home, but if you did, you'd never play on the Diamond pool tables, because with a pool table at home, why should you go and play pool anywhere else!!!

Personally don't represent the majority who go in and play on those tables, and they have a different view of the GC3s that you had.

Well Glen think your a guy who can make most tables play great.

That is your bread, and butter, right.

👍
Yes, I can, but I was never called to see if I'd be interested in rebuilding those GC3s, and if so, would they have been willing to pay my price!

I have a pool room in Seattle with 25 Rebco 9fts in it. They've contacted me about recovering the tables, because they've let everyone in the area work on them already, so they know what's available to hire. But, they told me they have a $500 per table budget, Nd would like to get the tables fixed up right, not just replace the cost. I asked them what they expect me to do, I don't put band-aids on pool tables, and seeing how I'm very familiar with those tables, I asked them what they expected me to do with a $500 per table limit? I passed on the work, told the manager to pass the word to the owners, either buy new tables, or talked to me directly about all the repairs the tables need, and take the $500 per table limit off. At this time in my life, I don't really care if they stay in business or not, ut up NOT going to where myself out to NO one so they can profit off my work, unless the pay is right!!!

And the real kicker about the pool room in Seattle is, it's owned by Bowlmore lanes, the largest bowling ally chain in the world, but don't want to spend any money to fix their pool tables up, go figure!!!

The Rebcos at Garage played pretty well a few years ago.

What's your definition of a "few" years ago?

Alex, I think that was his name, can't remember that far back, that owned Triangle Billiards in Seattle opened the Garage Billiards in the beginning, a long, long time ago. Bob Bev use to service those tables because he built them, but has quite doing that a long time ago as well, from there it went to the hacks taking over them. Maybe you played on one of the few tables not so screwed up, or maybe you don't know as much about pool tables as you think you do.

I was playing on them when Bev was doing them.

You are correct, there were two that were better than the rest.

Please explain to me how you are overpaying if the going rate is what it is? You make it sound like Diamond is charging everyone $5K then sticking it to you exclusively with an inflated price. You can't expect the price from years ago to apply to today. Costs go up so prices go up. Simple economics/business practices.

FFS!
30 percent in 2 years?
You can pay it....

So you'll go on the "NEVER GOING TO OWN A DIAMOND POOL TABLE" list, who cares. $7500 is the used 9ft ProAm price, plus delivery and set up, pay it, don't pay it, Diamond will never miss your sales order!
Bro...I own 8.
And a whole pool hall I built myself with hand tools.

You think an industrious guy like you might understand the value of getting your hands dirty and buying smart.

That's called being to cheap, yet you would argue about getting paid more at your job, because you deserve a higher pay, right!??
I just walked on a 45k wrangler today cuz daddy don't pay retail. Most dealers are 4k over retail.

12 dealers within a hour of me. I can order one just as I want it online and have it in 6 weeks. Got a dealer committed to 1500 off msrp already. And I will do better.
Cash talks.
