Buying tips on ebay: Who are the reputable sellers?

Tips

Hey Tons "O " fun, why haven't you asked us old timers if we know where you can get some tips? For example, if you don't know exactly which layered tip you like, ask for three differant brands. Here is my deal for ya. ONLY YOU NOW! 1 Talisman Medium : $10, 1 Moori Medium : $15, 1 Sniper : $15.
Put em in an envelope and mail. Low shipping pal. If ya want to do better than that, stick with ebay.

I did know a reputable dealer, but after the last time i ordered he closed his ebay store. Have no idea why, so that sucks.

You would be surprised how fast a box of tips can go though. Especially if you help friends re tip cues. I bought a box of elk masters probably a year or so ago and im down to 14 left. Joerackem sounds good though. Havent had first hand exp with him yet, but i have only heard good things about him.

I've gotten well over a dozen tips from "joerackem" on ebay, and he is one completely honest seller. I believe his feedback speaks for itself. :D

Tips

I've also bought a few tips from "joerackem" never had a problem. I wanted to try a Tailsman so I bought six from "gobilliards.com" they showed up and they seemed to hard for me so I called him and they said send them back and they will send me different ones so we'll see how they handle this.

Sorry to correct you, but the seller on eBay can and should leave feedback as soon as they get their money. The buyer should leave feedback promptly when they receive the item. This is the only way to correctly do business on ebay.

"Sorry to correct you" -- how arrogant. While I do believe it is good will for a seller to leave me a positive feedback as soon as I send them money, I often wondered why they would. There is a LOT more to a transaction than simply receiving the money. I certainly never felt like I was being held "hostage" by sellers that waited until our transaction was complete to my satisfaction before they left me feedback.

In other words, I agree with the other guy.

Here's a common scenario buyers encounter (I am both a buyer and seller so I know both sides).

The buyers feedback rating is at 98% or 99%, one more negative drops it below the 98% required in order to offer PayPal protection to future buyers.

The buyer pays through Paypal the moment the auction ended but the item arrived in horrible condition, significantly not as described or the item never even arrived. Buyer immediately contacts the seller, he/she is completely unwilling to exchange the item or claims they did nothing wrong.

Buyer wishes to leave a deserved negative feedback at this point, but they are aware that the seller will retaliate with a negative the moment they do.

So what does buyer do?, leave a negative comment knowing full well that they will receive one in return (even though they did nothing wrong but buy from this jerk). No, the buyer will probably leave no feedback comment or a very short positive feedback comment to be safe.

Technically, the buyer should leave a negative to inform other ebay users of the sellers bad business practices, but most people only look out for themselves. Other ebay users may never learn what a jerk the seller is because this happens all too often. Only the bravest of buyers will leave a negative knowing that the seller is most certainly going to retaliate.

This is what's wrong with the ebay community, people live in fear of getting a negative through retaliation.

Anyway, this thread was not supposed to be a comment on ebay or the ethics of buying on ebay. I just wanted some recommendations of reputable ebay sellers, that's all.

A good theory but if a seller screws a buyer he "WILL" get a negative every time. You are right the other way around though, someone doesn't pay and the seller will just forget it rather then risk a negative which is very bad for the seller. They know they aren't getting paid anyway it is best to just forget about it and file a NPB on the guy and get their fee back. Seller feedback's are a very valid sign if you should do business with him. Anyone who has been messing around on ebay as a seller learn pretty quick it is one of the best things to come along in a long time and they have no interest in screwing it up for themselves just to do something shady and make a few bucks.

There is real money to be made on ebay and being honest is the way to go if you are in it for the long run. I laugh when I see guys say things like "Fleabay" They don't have a clue, my nephew made around $200,000 last year on ebay selling high end and collectable cars. He has sold cars to people like Leno, Shaq and Paul Simon. He could have never done that sitting on a lot waiting for someone to wander in or putting ads in local papers. Not everybody on ebay are trying to screw you, most are just doing honest business. Take for example this joerackem guy. He has 7530 positives, no neg. and has 811 auctions running right now. I suspect he is making a little money on there and I doubt he would screw anyone to make a quick buck, he would have to be an idiot, he has it seems a nice business going.
