O.K. I am starting this thread to elicit any kind of similar experiences anyone has had with a noisy cue. Let me explain: I have a Schon ST-10 that just got refinished by Evan Clarke, 4-5 months ago. The cue is perfect, and looks great. Anyway, I was cleaning it the other day (Butt only), and I dropped it on my carpeted living room floor from a distance of about 6 inches. The pin end hit the carpet first, and this terrible vibrating buzzing noise reverberated down the entire length of the cue. I was horrified, of course. I replicated this noise by tapping either end of the cue on the carpet. I checked the weight bolt, because it sounded like a loose bolt, no such luck, still epoxied into place. The cue still hits great and I dont hear the rattle when I play with the cue. The rattle could have been there all along, I have had the cue 15 years and it has never been abused. I emailed Evan and he responded by saying that maple sometimes resonates like that, and neither he nor Dan Janes have ever been able to find anything loose after cutting apart cues that have this similar buzzing noise. What does everyone on here think?
