CA vs CO - state/cities with most tournaments

At Felt the bar boxes are busy and they have leagues and tournaments on them.
They help pay the rent Cowboy.
Sometimes on Saturday there is a end of season league tournament and it's packed and the Calcutta over the PA is loud and annoying but it supports the $3.50 an hour between 10 and 4 to play on really good Diamond tables, doesn't bother me at all.
I understand leagues and making money on barboxes. A business needs to survive. My gripe is about almost all tourneys being on 7 ft. That doesnt make sense to me.

FYI ,Felt has a big table 9b tournament tonite - every Tuesday. Price varies. I paid $15 a few weeks back. Can't remember what the race was. I think race to 4 on the front and race to 3 on the back. Last night I played a barbox tournament 8 on the winners side 9 on the losers side. Lots of pretty good players in both. Had a great time and the players were very nice. I am not that good but am looking to play BCA . I need to introduce myself a little. The more I play these the more I improve incrementally. I have a table at home and enjoy practice alone but that only takes you so far as most of you know!

It baffles me to see $80/$100/even $1000 tourneys being advertised............on 7 ft tables. Like, WHY?

Why could because money put in bar boxes.

Friend did math once on a $500.00 add tournament that started at 10am went into wee hours of am.

Bar did add $500.00, but when math was done counting all game played at $1.00/game Bar was in black.

You have to factor in the alcohol sales during the tournament, that's where the money is.
And food sales if they do food.
I can see whats happening at Felts 7 foot tables from the 9 foot tables where I play and during a full house 7 foot tournament the wait staff is non stop serving food and drinks.

I understand what your saying, venue has to make money off Tournments.

If nit the Tournaments will end.
