I was just wondering if anyone in Tucson thinks they have a chance of winning this year. Phoenix has a strong team and are 100% confident that they will bring home the trophy this year.

If anyone thinks otherwise please post your opinions.

I think they have a better chance of winning the Cactus Cup than they do of winning the challenge match against the Muchachos on the Saturday before. But that isn't saying much.

I plan on being in Tucson for the first half of Cactus Cup.

Tell all of 'em that when they're done playing footsies for trophies, they can come and play me for some of those dead presidents, baby! :D
 
Just like I thought

Well, after the first round of the Cactus Cup, Phoenix has a commanding lead. Now the finals are played up in Phoenix on the bar box. Tucson needs a miracle to pull this one off.
 
Yup, Phoenix played great. They now have a 9-3 lead going into this weekend when they play here in Phoenix.

On Team Phoenix, almost everyone played outstanding. Tom Satterfield, Justine Karber and Tres Kane come to mind as playing especially well. And as usual, Don Westbrooks played some amazing pool all weekend for Team Tucson.

Mike, those people did play great. I also remember a Mike Pankoff had a great come back against the always tuff Jack Ripple. Jack had a 4-1 lead and then Mike finished the match at 9-4.

1. Where do you usually play? Main Street?

2. Whick hall is the best place to watch money games? (Not that I am looking to donate any $$$$! :D ).

I play at Kolby's in Tempe. There isn't a whole lot of action around here, but I hear that people are at The Rack in the day time (only about a mile from Kolby's), and there is also a day crowd at Sixshooters on the west side of Phoenix. I haven't been to either spot during the day time to try to match up because I work during the day. Also, I have heard that a lot of players are hanging out at Alexander's, which is also on the West side of Phoenix. There are only bar tables at Alexander's, so if you like bar table action, I think that is the place to go right now.
