Howzit Guys,
1. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced (Less than $800.00?) CAD/CAM Software for a 4" x 7" CNC Mill..
(And where to get it for that price)
The CNC Mill comes with only a :
"3 Axis Stepper Controller - Gecko Driven"

Something that most of the cuemakers use, so everybody knows what's going on with the programing..
I don't want to buy something that is uncommon and nobody knows how it works..:o

2. I don't understand the Price levels of the software, but,
will a cheaper CAD/CAM Program do the same as Tony's (Yes, Black Boar Tony :p ) CAD/CAM program?..

Thanks, Alton

Cuecaps, I would say that most on here use Bobcad 19,20, or 21. I just purchased ver. 23 and should get it next week. At least ver. 20 and 21 had some extra options for an A axis and now 23 wil do some wrap aroud on the a axis. You can download their demos on-line. Put in your correct contact information when you download the software. Don't worry they will call in a day. I would download the software on Thurs. night cause they work on commition and are egure to sell on Fridays. Now tell them you are just a hobbiest and you can't justify paying that much. Work them down to at least 2 seats, for two users, training cds(for 22 since 23 is not ready yet) and Bobart. Your offer shoud be under $450.

Thanks Jim,
I did see someone selling BobCad 21 like that on E-bay for about high $300.00's,
but, I didn't know I could go direct to BobCad for this..
The e-bay one said there is a $75.00 fee to bobcad for his, to register?

I don't know what 2 seats, two users are, but, That's what I tell them??:embarrassed2:
an I upgrade to #23 to do wrap-around 4th Axis later after #21?
Thanks Jim..

Alton, See me Wednesday night. I can help you out. Free is a good price isn't it??

You might want to be careful around here. Not that minde just that I think that is the start of how Eddie Wheet got banned from AZ. Anyways cue capps will want the training cds in any case. I would purchase ver. 23 up front. If you want the older ver. 20 or 21 then make the offer that is lower than prev. stated for ver. 23. And yes two seats means two users. Bobcad now uses a dongle for security. They are like thumb drives. You will be able to have Bobcad 23 on several comupters and just move the dongle.

The limitations will likely not be the software, but the operator. There are very few cuemakers out there that couldn't do 99% of what they are now doing with just about any cad/cam package.

Thanks

For the cad, I use turbocad deluxe 129$ and for the cam, I use mach3 (free). I try a lots of cad and I love this one.

So you dont have to pay more like this to make cue inlays!!!

Thanks EB..
