Caiden tip and product review

Caiden Warrior tip, I have recently installed it on my Jacoby Carbon Fibre shaft. It wore off, it did not hit good also, it did not hold the shape as well. It is very pricey for the $30, Even my draws are short as compared to Talisaman Trinity tips

IMHO the future of cue tips is synthetic tips, I am not against leather tips but like wood you will always have inconsistent results, all natural products will never be exactly alike, animal hide will never grow to the exact same thickness just like all woods have different grain, even from the same tree, I have played guitar for almost 50 years, the same kind of guitar can sound very different depending on what wood is being used, it's the same with anything made of wood, CF solved that problem although I don't believe all CF shafts are created equal do some research if you are thinking about going to a CF shaft or cue, I know of at least one synthetic tip, I've been using that tip since March of this year and am very happy with it, just like everything one size does not fit all, don't be afraid to try something new.

I'm using Bulletproof Recoil tips, I use hard tips so they are the only ones I have tried, another member on this site thought they were too hard and tried the medium tip, he said he thought they were medium hard and liked that better than the hard tip, the best thing about these tips is the consistency, they play the same tip to tip and as they wear, although the wear I have experienced is minimal, I wore my tip down more by changing from a dime radius to a nickel radius than from playing with it.

I just had a fighter installed in my Whyte Carbon and I feel like I’m having a few problems with it also. I’ve only played a few hours with it but had to shape and scuff a few times. It seemed to not want to hold chalk at first and I had quite a few miscues.

I tried many tips before trying the Bulletproof Recoil tip, the Hard(green) is a very hard tip, the Medium(Red) I haven't tried, if you are thinking about trying one give them a shot, I'm really happy with mine and have them on both of my shafts, they hold chalk great and play consistent tip to tip.

for the warrior - I play with a medium - yes it needs attention to hold chalk sometimes but grips the cueball better than most any of the tips I have used and has a resonance that is unique. the one I see above pictured looks like it wasn't installed well and has no radius.

I want to thank timothysoong (www.caidenbrand.com) for the Caiden products that he sent me for review.

I will do my best to go over the products together and individually, and give you my thoughts, good or bad, on each of the products, over the next few weeks.

The first item I tried was the Caiden Soft tip. Photos of the install are included. I found that the tips installed very cleanly... the material is first-rate. It cut smoothly, even, without any fraying, etc. It was very easy to burnish.

As to play, I shot with it for an hour or so, yesterday. It held chalk very well. I experienced no miscues with the tip, over that period. The tip gripped the cue ball very nicely... very good feedback. I have it installed on a Predator Vantage shaft with an impact plate.

Are both black layers impact plate or leather or one of each. How far down do you play with this tip or do you replace at a certain layer. This looks like very good workmanship. Thanks in advance.
