So Here in Texas I have been playing an older African American man that calls himself Rags or the rag man. His son calls himself velvet. Rags is maybe a B- player at best and velvet well he might be a D player. They seem to act like back in Cali the Rag man is a force to be delt with or atleast was one at some point in time.

Anyone know these lost west coast players?
 
I don't know them but I can say that if he is a B- player there in Texas that he would be a D player here :eek: :grin: :grin:

Rags and Velvet on the road again. Sounds like a pimp convention.
 
Cali has a good scene but the best come to Texas to PLAY.:wink:

I believe the pimp convention started in L.A. LOL

Where are you playing them? Sounds like shooting fish in a water basin.
 
The only "Rags" from here I know of was Robert "Rags" Woods.

As I understand it, he was a very, very good player in his time.

He is no longer with us - RIP.
 
Are you playing them for money? If so bet all you have*, they are clearly a pair of Born Losers. Any serious "threat" player in California who found themselves in the boonies in a money game with someone who'd never heard of them who simply smile quietly to themselves and up the bet.

The only reason for upfront telling you how great they are is if they are either trying to scare you into playing badly or they are idiots who have no idea what good Pool is (In Cali or anywhere else), or both.

I tried to play them for money. They decided it was in their best interest not to play me. This was probably becouse I tore up on a poor guy at $20 a game. Poor guy, who bets twenty a game anyway?

I noticed they were players and after feeling bad for the previus victom I said wana make some of that back? Lets go play those guys doubles.

They wanted to play but only for free. I ended up giving free lessons to some D,C, and maybe a B class players.
