Ferroni's was one of a few rooms in Northern California that had major tournaments during the mid-late 70s/early 80s (IIRC). The main room was the Jointed Cue in Sacramento, which had two big tournaments a year usually and sometimes expanded them to include top pros like Sigel and Hall.

On the poster from left to right are (maybe) David Howard, Tony Annigoni, Louie Roberts, ?, Hawaiian Brian, ?, Mister Spock, Dan Louie, Steve Mizerak, Barry Bettencourt (TD), Jim Rempe, Ronnie Allen, Buddy Hall, Fats(?), Allen Hopkins(?), Mike Sigel, Richie Florence and Lou Butera.

jointed cue

the jointed cue has portraits of most of those players hanging on the wall.

Thanks Bob, do you have any idea when the 4th annual tourney was? year?

Well, since the 19th was a Saturday, that must have been 1977, 1983 or 1988. 1988 would have been too late. I'll see if I can dig up some other info.

Funny you should post this. When I was at your pool hall last week I spent a little bit of time looking at this. It is nice to look at.

I've seen those posters, or possibly a reprint of them in the Tournament Room at Jointed Cue. I'll talk with Dave about it the next time I'm in there and see if I can dig up any info.

John Coito drew those pictures and it hung in the pool in Modesto for years. First it was Ferronis owned by Dave Ferroni. Then it was bought out by Barry Bettencourt and Bob Wong. That room closed and then a few years later was re-opned in teh same location and owned by Audie Perez, Kim Davenport and Dave Ferroni. (Dave was bought out fairly quickly)

So those drawings were always hangin in that room. How did a copy of those end up so far away? I would love to have those.
