I sometimes wear a USS Indianapolis hat around when I'm at work, and I get conversations all the time from either old vets asking about the historical significance because I'm clearly too young to have been on that ship...or fans of Jaws and the classic speech by Quint regarding "eleven hundred men went in the water, three hundred and sixteen men come out, and the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945" speech.
Either type of people, I love to hang out and talk to them.
History was always my favorite subject in school. Especially military and political.
