I'm going to make some diagrams of how and where I am aiming to explain what I'm doing. What I'm trying to figure out, is why does it work? (I don't know what system I'm using, if any).
As an example (in diagram 2), if the one ball were in the bottom right pocket (opposite of where it is), and I wanted to kick to rails, I would use the opposite of running English (stun) and aim at the same spot. I tried it for hours and it works; I'm just trying to understand why. If someone could identify what system they think I stumbled upon, then they could further explain it to me.
For the Dr. Cue method on the top table, you need to start at the bottom right corner and that is zero. go along the rail and add 1 to each diamond(8 is the bottom left). Your numbers are right for the short rail. For your example, you would use top right english and hit the corresponding number(5) on the short rail to go 2 rails to the bottom right corner. To go 2 rails to hit the first diamond on the bottom right in your example, aim at the 4 on the short rail. To hit the first diamond on the right short rail in your example, aim at the 6 on the short rail. In your example, if you want to hit the nine, you subtract 4 from 5 and aim at the 1(just left of the corner pocket.
I believe Dr Cue suggests shifting more to top english as you get closer to the left end rail in your example.
This is from a demo I saw him do at an state tournament. It works for me.
