My sister is a collector of whatever strikes her fancy and called me about an eight ball she bought today. It has a white spot on it with a black camel in it. I suspect that there are roughly a zillion of them around from when Camel was a sponsor but I told her I would ask. So the question: Something moderately rare or thousands out there?

I have a couple plus a camel 9 ball..They were part of the large camel promotion during the time of the camel tour both before and after.. I don't think they have much of a value other than for collectors maybe...mike

Probably true, although since the government came down on the tobacco companies advertising and promotions, you won't be finding any more. I have a wall clock from Camel Lights with Joe Camel shooting pool. I think I'll hang on to it for a while and see if it might increase in value.

I have a few Camel things from when Earl Strickland came through and was promoting the Camel tour. I won 2 sticks on 2 separate occasions from breaking and running out. They have colored balls on them and came in little black cue cases with silver pool balls on them. I gave one to my daughter and had it signed by several good players.

I noticed on Friday that our dog had chewed on one end of one of the cases. :( I also have ashtrays, a triangular tin and some other stuff with Joe Camel on them.

There was quite a bit of advertising pool items past around during the Camel Tour. I have a couple of Zippo lighters. One with Joe Camel playing pool and another one with an eight ball on it. John Henderson

I have sold hundreds of Camel Pro Tour, and Camel pool related items. Zippo's to book matches on ebay since 1998. The 8 and 9 ball is a fairly common item. I have sold them for $12.00 to $25.00. They are not a rare collector's item, but still fun to keep as an addition to anyone pool-billiard collection.
