Can’t believe someone threw this one back.

Cue sold on the Bay with no back story, and then it reappeared with some crazy, convoluted tale.

Screams Rambow... Joint looks like a wartime cue, which would be right for a young “Wimpy,” but the cue has the feel and proportions of a 60’s Bushka.

I’ve never seen points so close to even on such an old cue: One is just a little higher than the other three.

Shaft looks like a replacement with a taller collar.

Bottom part of the insert broke off in the joint.

Was it built to have a bumper? Has the weight bolt been replaced?

Could it have been Luther Lassiter’s?

Wish it could talk.

Thoughts?

The joint is WWII. The name says it was made for Luther Lasiter. I would have to have it in my hands to authenticate it. The shape of the forearm looks too thin for Rambo a third of the way down. It should be bottle shaped. Pictures can lie! Either way you probably have Luther's first player.
Wow, I would buy it if it were bent.
Nick :)
I do have some numbers that might help you out. Also, Mark Kalugin can tell as well as anyone if it is a rambo. PM if you would like some specs. I would not publicly post them. Exciting Cue!

The joint is not WWII, it has a brass pin, and it's not the Brunswick layered material.

Please stop posting your terrible "expertise"

"Vintage Pool Cue with case. Shaft measures 28 1/2"
Butt measures 29" engraved name Wimpy on the butt. I knew the Wimpy that used this cue and I was told he knew Wimpy Lassiter . Maybe Lassiter gave the cue to him I do not know for sure. Maybe the Wimpy I knew had it engraved for himself. It was made between 1940s and 1960s. There is a serious wobble in this cue . I think they make a tool to straighten cues. The joint is also a bit off. Please look at photos before bidding. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks."

There’s not a serious wobble: The bottom of the insert broke off in the joint causing the butt and shaft to misalign when screwed together. Butt is straight. Shaft is not perfect, but ok for an old cue.

What are you trying to accomplish by posting the listing?

Backstory means nothing to me. People come up with all kinds of stories.

The cue speaks to me, though.

Thanks for that These clowns are trolling your post. You should report them and get them banned they probably want your cue. I personally owned a few of these built by Brunswick and custom built by Herman Rambo. Usually that joint had ebony points. Mine did. I owned a unchalked signed Rambo and speced it out before my buddy talked me out of it for 5K He sold it for more!
Just saying I authenticate they cry.
Great cue.
Nick :)

Lol. Yep, always good for a laugh. See Nick, difference between you and me is if I want a cue, I tell the person I want it and once they come up with a price to let me know. I don’t pull one of your moves and tell them lies to get what I want. Kinda like the movie Kingpin and “pulling a Munson”, lying to people in order to screw them should be called “pulling a Serdula”. You make an art form out of it. Kudos.😂😂😂😂😂

You are a troll, I agree. Stop giving bad information and go away.

Found a rare picture of Rambo checking if the cue was straight.

Here’s the original listing, detective.

Still trying to figure out what your intent was.
