Can anyone give me some info on Jacoby cues

I am new to the message board. I am currently in the market for a new cue. I am not a fan of the big production cues (viking, predator, meucci, etc).
I currently play with a sneaky pete lucasi but am looking to upgrade. I have hit a few jacoby's with wrap just wondering if anyone can let me know how similar the hit would be without wrap or close to lucasi.

I bought a new custom Jacoby off of a forum member on here and love it. It has a linen wrap on it. I switched from a Joss Custom with a Predator Z2 shaft to the Jacoby with a Z2 shaft and they feel very similar. It hits alot better than a Lucasi which I owned a long time ago. I sent it into Davids shop for a repair and they were awesome people with great work. Get a Jacoby! Ron

The finish on Jacobys is superb.

They offer a VERY wide array of joint types (from radial, 3/8x10, 5/16x14, etc....), so they cover about every base as far as that goes. You can usually find one in the wanted/for sale section of the forum for a good price (just search keyword: Jacoby). I've played exclusively with one for 2 years, and will not give mine up for anything....

As mentioned above....GREAT folks at Jacoby, and they stand behind their products 100%. I've recommended them to anyone who is in the market for a new cue!!!

Thanks for the info rusty! i am definitely very fond of them and seeing as they take good care of their customers makes it even easier of a decision.

Sean,

I have three Jacoby cues, two are wrapless and one has a stacked leather wrap. I like the way all three of them hit, and their hits are too similar to differentiate. They make solid hitting shafts and the overall quality of the cues are excellent. You cannot go wrong with a Jacoby for a playing cue.

I own a wrapless Jacoby and had a Jacoby with stacked leather wrap (that I sold to a good friend). IMO its be best cue I have ever owned. If I would to compare the hit to another cue I think a Joss has a similar hit. I also owned a Lucasi but wasn't a big fan of the hit. It might have been me but it seemed to have a lot of vibration when you hit the ball opposed to the Jacoby which just has a very solid hit.

I put a OB2 shaft on mine which is also nice. My friend used it the other day and said she my cue is really nice. I take that as a compliment since she plays with a high end Mezz.

I've known David Jacoby many years, owned and played with dozens of his Custom Cues, and will attest to the quality workmanship and playability of his
Cues ... And yes, I have played with several wrapless Jacoby's and they feel
great.

You can't go wrong with a Jacoby Cue and their Customer Service is Superb.

I own several Jacoby cues personally and have sold them in my store for years. Excellent customer service. VERY high quality in production and in detail. They have won numerous awards for their design including the first two years of the ACA (American Cuemakers Association) People's Choice awards at the Valley Forge show. Highly recommend.

I've got an old Jacoby J-2 in cocobolo...5/16 X 14 joint. It's a great player, but doesn't get used much now that I have a Josey. Still, sure can't fault Jacoby...well made cue with a good feel.

Guess I'm just stuck with the letter J? I also have a Justis case. ;)

Thank you everyone for the input it is really helpful to hear. I am a huge fan of wrapless wood to wood or wood to phenolic ring. Their craftsmanship looks superb just by the pics. I am really interested in the sneaky peat or something not to fancy.

I love mine that I bought a couple of years ago. Their website has many examples of their cues. I couldn't find mine but they were very quick to respond to me that it was a cue they manufactured many years ago before they had a bigger shop. Here's what they told me:

Created about 12 years ago. Only a few of this style made. Bark pocket maple. Turquoise and imitation ivory inlays. Ebony butt sleeve. Blood wood rings.

Sorry, no immediate photos that I can post easily. I bought it used for $450 from an online dealer.

Melissa Little from the women's pro tour loves her Jacoby cues and just had a custom one built for her.

David Jacoby makes a top notch cue. His radial pin cues have a hit second to none, inho.
Fit and finish is superb. I have had a lot of cues over the years, (Gina, Searing, Black etc.) but, I have been using the same Jacoby for 7 years now and still love it.
