Can everyone stop crying about Oscar not making the team? Sheesh...

Stop making excuses for him, he simply did not play good enough to make the team, and I'm sure he knows that. When has he ever beaten any of the other 4 players on the team in a significant match? Any one of the other 4 players could trade blows with each other and the outcome would be different everyday. Can't say the same for Oscar.

Being a great ambassador for the sport, being popular, kind, and an overall nice guy does not win you Mosconi Cups.

You guys can't have it both ways. First you complain that we can't ever win a Mosconi Cup, then you complain it's more about honor and integrity than putting in the best players. C'mon.

That's true, Kris. Oscar did not qualify according to the points system.

Although Oscar did help us win in 2009 so it's reasonable that some on here would want him back.

Oscar is a busy man lately, marriage for him is nigh, he has a tour to tend, and both of
these require time away from the pool table, so if he does not get chosen in the end
it might be a good thing for him.

He'll be back though, I'm sure.

He beat Sky in the fight night challenge match last year 10 ball race to 80, think it was for 10K. In fact, he has beat all these guys, including Shane, numerous times in many tournaments.

Other than that, I agree if someone is a professional, do not clinch a spot and don't get selected, there is no reason to quibble over it, but to say he doesn't beat them is not accurate.

I agree. While I do like him, I think his exclusion from the team is fair.

Some people are acting like he just won the World 9 Ball and getting snubbed.

Just because Mark Wilson used both of his captains pick last year for the 4th and 5th place points holder, does NOT mean he HAS to use it every year. It's called Captain's pick for a reason.

Hey look, a dead horse may be dead, but that does not preclude a good solid beating from all hands on deck. And if you have a problem with that, then you .... got a problem with that.... buddy..... pal.

Not really sure where to go with this pointless remark, but Ive got things to say dammut!

Oscar 4 Life.

Not sure why people think Oscar helped in 2009.

He was actually a part of 3 of the 7 losses for America that year.

Plus it's not like Wilson picked John Barton

Exactly. Why even bring up 2009 in the first place? I understand it was the last time we won but that was 7 YEARS ago! No one on that team plays the same as they do currently, and that includes Oscar.

That's like saying Hey, Joe Schmoe scored 3 points in that one game in 1980, how come the Knicks are not offering him a contract?

He should've.

Then Lou Figueroa shows his birth certificate, revealing he's European and Marcus Chamat brilliantly picks him to be on the team.

We then proceed to experience the greatest Mosconi Cup in the history of pool.

On the bright side, if USA loses, Barton wins back his $10,000.

Ah that would explain the pause in lous stroke

I think it would have been interesting to see who the next selection would have been had Mike, Shane and Justin qualified on points (with Rodney receiving one of the two obviously coach picks).

I know who the team is NOW, sure.
The official team just has been announced on this site.

I said "if" because I didn't want to act as if I knew the final team before it was announced.
As we know, nothing is certain until the official results.
Kind of like our election today.

I would not look good in one of those skin tight jerseys they're wearing nowadays.
