can i get opinons about gluing tips into place!??

loctite is the one i've been using for years. one time i had a break in one of our local tournaments... i shattered the ferrule, but the tip didn't even come off the ferrule (or what remains of it)... i trust loctite, although some find it too hard when hitting.

Wow that opens up another question. Can different glues change the "hit" of a cue?

In theory, the glue layer should be thin enough to not have any noticeable effect. I consider removal as another factor tip glue choice. If time permits, I'll always use gorilla glue rather than any kind of super glue. Its resilient texture makes it easier to cut a tip off when it's re-tip time, with less chance of scarring the ferrule. I've seen some deep gouges in ferrule ends from previous tip jobs.

Jay,

Yeah, I still use Tweetens as well. You gotta leave it clamped for 24 hours but I have tips on cues that have been there for 25 years without falling off and I use all the cues at least once a month. My 1987 Richard Black still has the Le Pro I put on it when I bought it. I have never had a tip put on with Tweetens that came off until I sanded it off. Although I am sure the Super GLue gels work just fine or everbody would not be using them.

You can still get Tweetens at any of the big wholesalers and it is always available at the Trade Show and at Allen's SBE in Valley Forge. I think I have used two tubes of it in 40 years.

See you at the US Open. And the Mosconi Cup is in your backyard this year at the MGM in Vegas. Will you be there?

Maybe, if they pick Shane yes.
