Can someone explain the price gouging business model?

No its not business, its scalping. Obviously people pay that much and thats why people do it but its fucked up in my opinion. The same with people who buy concert or event tickets just to resell.

Supply and demand....I wouldn't buy one, but if somebody else will then there's a market.
