can someone explain?

i was shooting league the other night.

i know some of the guys from the other team and we're talking sticks.

the one guy that i know the best comments on my lucasi and stated that he just ordered a meucci.

he said he likes the feel of meucci's and asked me how the lucasi hit.i said it was somewhat stiff.

another guy spoke up and said he liked the whippy hit of the meucci over a stiff hit because of his lack of a good stroke.

do sticks with meucci type hits offer some compensation for less powerful, smooth strokes?

I have tried many different cues, including Meucci and Lucasi.
Some cues offer more power, some less. X-shaft offers a very stiff hit, spinning and power seem to be lacking.
Meucci stick or any other one for that matter will not fix a stroke.
I find that bigger size tip is more forgiving then a smaller one.
Inducing spin with a Meucci Black Dot shaft is relatively easy, but the same can be said about OB-1 or 314, Z2. With Z2 being very unforgiving for errors. So, if it is easy to put spin with Black Dot then it is not the most forgiving either.

Would I rather shoot with Meucci than Lucasi, the answer is ‘yes’.

Hey, this is my opinion. I do believe that a meucci will make more cueball action easier for a player with a lessor developed stroke. The whippiness of the shaft allows a player to get some real action without possessing a stellar stroke. Meucci's also have a ton of deflection, meaning that with extreme left or right english the cue ball will not go in a straight line at your target ( it will deflect off this line). All cues have deflection to varying degrees, I feel that Meucci's are the worst. If you are trying to spin in a long shot on a nine footer so much compensation must be made to accurately pocket the ball. My opinion is that these Meucci'e are just not accurate cues. Once you have developed a good stroke the tradeoff is just not worth it. I think Lucasi's are way better cues, and less expensive! I have owned and played with both ( along with very many others). I personally KNOW this to be true, but no doubt some will strongly disagree.

I do not feel like debating this, I am just offering my humble opinion. I would highly reccomend Lucasi, and highly discourage the Meucci's. I know people can play a great game with either ( I have used the Meucci's in the past myself). I would never buy another meucci to play with ever again. I know a lot of people will agree, some will not.

I would rather develop my stroke, than play with a cue that is extremely inaccurate. It will pay off in the long run, and you will be glad you did!

Personally I've always had a lot more fun with a rock hard shaft than a softer, whippy one.........................................and I like my pool cues that way too.

Back when I was a young pup I played with a Meucci for a few years and loved it, but back then I was a "shooter", now I'm a "player" and wouldn't be able to make a Meucci work for me I doubt. Just my $.02.
