Can someone tell me about this shaft/cue

A friend of mine took this into his pawn shop and I'm wondering if anyone knows about this shaft? It appears to be segmented but I only see four seams, one at each quarter turn. The butt is 30" long and maybe some sort of el cheapo deluxe?

It looks like an original Tiger...I have one.
They hit well....would be a great break shaft also.

I think it has a square center with four pieces of wood surrounding it.
