Can You ID Ray Martin's Cue?

Don't know about the cue. I would enjoy hearing about the lesson.

I've gotten several emails and PMs about this and, honestly, I'm a little conflicted about posting something. I haven't actually written it, but these things usually live in me head for a while and the writing part is easy. But, I just don't know in this case. I think I have most of it "written" in my mind. Like I said, I don't know. Maybe yes, maybe no.

I thought I read in his book that he shot with a Balabushka? Or was that a Pro pool players RRSP lol.

i saw a while back , i believe it was cuezilla , ray martins balabushka for sale. had his name on it and a loa with it.

i got to thinking that maybe i quoted the wrong website, turns out i did.

just looked it up again. it is on billiardcue .com.

you can buy it if you happen to have 40,000.00 you dont need for bills and stuff.

well you know the old saying.... sometimes its the indian, not the arrow , in ray martins case anyway

We talked about cues, and LD shafts, and aiming systems, and stuff like that there.

In Ray's case it s most certainly the Indian.

I would say Filipino all the way except it lacks the custom sssssnake
skin wrap that is so common on those particular cues.

My main player is a Dadivas with a sea-snake wrap. I'm ok with the wrap (it actually has some grip, which I prefer) and the cue plays like a million bucks. Looks great too.

Regarding Balabushka's, Ray earlier played with a Balabushka Titlist conversion with the rings in the buttsleeve. That's the cue pictured in the 99 Critical Shots book. Later on, he played with at least a couple Szamboti's, at least one with inlaid hearts in the buttslleve. Regarding the wrap, Ray always preferred a braided nylon black wrap, rather than linen or leather. Hope that helps.

i think its kinda cool looking. i would prefer a black leather wrap instead, maybe sting ray to keep with the sea snake theme.
