Can't decide upon what new cue case to order

I have been looking for a new cue cases for months, and months. I have narrow my choices to two case. Jack Justis Pro-Lite, and Jim Murnak Vintage.

Unfortunately I have only had brief looks at the actual Pro-Lite, and Jim Vintage cases in person.

What ever case I get I think it will be 2 x 4 with plenty of pocket room, (if a Justis a 8” & 16” pocket). Plus I need the ability to carry a Jump Butt Handle.

Just asking for some feedback from actual Jack Justis Pro-Lite, and Jim Murnak Vintage cue case owners.

What case do you own, what are your likes, dislikes about your particular case, and last what would you order differently if you had it to do over again?

Lol

In my mind, I ended up with those two too. I would suggest to write down
the most important things about cases to you, then prioritize them. Assign point values to them, evaluate each case, add up the points, and it might tell you which case would most satisfy you.

Convenience of use is one factor very important to me. If a case has one or more irritating things about it, it ruins the overall satisfaction I have with the case.

To me, Justis looks to be a 'Tux' (formal) version of a case, whereas Murnak looks to be a nice 'Casual' (informal) style of case. LOL, I would like a Justis for big tournament play, and a Murnak as a daily case.

Ron Thomas cases are kind of inbetween Murnak and Justis, but I am not overly enthused by the method used for attaching the pockets.

I do like the Pockets on the Murnak Vintage model, quite a bit, and the Justis pockets look stiffer and less convenient to me than I like them to be.

Having never owned any of these cases I can not say for sure, but this is just my observations, research, and opinion so far .... LOL

They both look great but the Justis looks to me like the pockets are very small and hard to access stuff that is stored in them. Not for me. I have too much stuff to carry and that I use everytime I play. I'll be going with a custom from John Barton built to my specs.

You may want to consider resale value as part of your decision also. Murnaks resell quite quickly, but Justis consistently brings in the top dollar.

i own a 2x4 murnak vintage. it is great. plenty of pocket room. the organizer is great. comes std. with jump handle compartment. i would advise to shorten tues an 1". i would not change a thing.

good luck

I like Jim Murnak's cases. Having owned many other cases, Jim's cases are not only drop dead beautiful, but you have enough pockets for anything you can think of. Whatever your needs are, he can handle them. As a player himself, Jim has thought of all of our needs. Even his simplest vintage line of cases get admired by everyone who sees them, and if you go for a few bucks more - his carving is absolutely outstanding. Another great thing about Jim, is that he is a wonderful guy to work with and will spend all the time with you that you require. Go for it - you won't be sorry.

kionnkid has a good deal, as others, on a variety of reliable instroke cases. but if you want to look like your driving a rolls that shoots like a ferrari..
