Capone or Omen.

:D Im about to purcase a new cue, and locking for a players cue. Have askt around and heard allot of good things about Omen cues, how about Capone cue they really look nice how do they play??? Im allso thinking about BCM, Gilbert and Carmeli. Im living in Sweden and have no posibility to try out thise cues, so i need good dedscriptions on quallity, workmanship and playebility.

You won't go wrong with any of the cues you mentioned. All hit very solid and are well made. If I had to choose, my order would be (with number 1 being the first choice):

1. Capone

2. BCM

3. Gilbert

4. Carmeli

5. Omen

Cant go wrong with any of them...I would go with;

1. Omen

2. Capone

3. Carmeli

4. Gilbert

In terms of playability, i would rank Omen at the top of the list with Gilbert as the second best and Capone in a close third. Bryan Mordt makes a nice cue too. Personally, I wouldn't include Ariel Carmeli on this list (but hey, that's jst my opinion).

In terms of looks, it would have to be Capone closely followed by Pete Ohman (Omen). Some people love the look of a Gilbert but to me, I would rank it third (but that's just personal preference).

So essentially, I would have to put Omen as the first choice. I've owned several and they were all great! I regret letting them ago. But you can't go wrong with a Gilbert or a Capone.

You can't go wrong with either the Omen or the Capone. Both hit well and have excellent workmanship. If I were to choose, I would have to say go with the Capone. Of course, I am biased, as I have two Capones, and a third on the way, and I only have one Omen.
 
Since I use a Omen I don't need any of the others. I'm sure they are all very fine cues but my Omen plays perfectly, looks great and feels better.
Also Pete Ohman (maker of Omen cues) is a great guy to do business with, top notch in all respects. My son has an Omen also and thinks it's as good as it gets.

I play in the top few here in the Raleigh area in North Carolina, and i play with an Omen Cocobolo cue. Great taper, beautiful, nicely balanced, all around awesome cue. The Capone I had was pretty, but too beefy and felt odd. I don't know why. I have also had a BCM, but the butt was thicker. I like a little thinner. Also, not only is this a striking cue to look at, but this guy is a standup pool loving, great guy to work with. Like anything in life, I like to give my business to people who appreciate their talent and appreciate their customers. I've hit with six Omens and they all played well. Best of luck. K.

Pete Ohman is a master craftsman who has been building cues for about 30 years. I have one of his first 6 pointers from 1979 and he and I just designed a cue last year with burl, white holly and 12 of my birthstones. Whatever you can dream up Pete can build. He is flexible, easy to work with and probably faster than most custom cue makers. My newest cue was built in 10 months. As for the hit, I'm very pleased. I put my usual playing cue away the day my omen came in and I haven't missed it since.
