We always refered to them as chip breakers. I am not sure if that is the real name or not. There are also smooth versions. The actual point of the cutter is smooth on the ones I have.

yes we call em chip breakers in the shops too chris, its those notches in the middle that give them the chip breaking, many types of styles come with and without chip breakers

all though the tri style is much less rigid than my perferred cnmg style, for hogging, ive actually only used t styles for threaders, when the laydown is not available

but wood wont have the kind off push off metal will so the t style will be fine for me

SWEET,i found the same thing just under a different company, from tungaloy, the local vendor doesnt have it in toolmex
