Carbon fiber ding in shaft

How was the dent caused? It is supposed to be very difficult to dent carbon fiber so I’m curious if the circumstances.
CF shafts are pretty much ding proof, but are very easy to gouge or cut on a sharp edge, like bad piece of trim on a bar table etc.

So I know I'm a bit late to this party lol but I know a good way to mend carbon shafts.
Using CA glue is correct but add a little carbon from a pencil to the hole or ding first then drop some CA glue on it. This makes it an incredibly strong bond and is super hard. It will also blend colour better.

I recently saw this in another setting. I think it is a fine idea.

Just for a final warning. If you have a compromised carbon shaft, please inspect it frequently. Cracks grow quickly and can eventually be catastrophic. A shattered shaft will not be a fun experience. I almost impaled my arm once with a broken wooden shaft.

My brother was carrying a carbon fiber tripod in the woods doing photography. He was going between two large boulders and caught the tripod just right and it broke and splintered. He's got the slivers in his hand still visible, his doctor said they'll never go away, but shouldn't hurt him. He doesn't buy carbon fiber tripods anymore.

Many archers have stories about cf arrows shattering.

I have a small ding. Thinking about taping it off and applying a smooth coat of JB Weld and then razor blade it smooth after semi dry. Any thoughts?
Is this your shaft or something you are summoned to fix for someone else? How deep is the dent?

I fixed one with a super glue.
I used razor blade to trim the excess.
Then I just fine sanded it
Used compound to re-polish.
