Has anyone switched to a carbon fiber shaft, and then after giving it a long enough adjustment period, switched back? I am curious before I spend the money on a CF shaft. Deciding between Revo, Defy, and CueTec.

I have all 3 but the Defy is not the latest generation. I too agree with skor on the Revo but a Cynergy would be a close second. The Revo is going to be the lowest deflection and the Defy is going to be closer to a wood shaft in my opinion. The older Defys had a coating that almost requires the use of a glove. The Cynergy is somewhere in the middle.
I'll caveat that with this: I have not shot with the latest generation of Defys, so I can't speak to how those are. They apparently fixed the coating issue or removed it so it should be a lot better now. Plus, if you have a first or second gen Defy, McDermott will swap it out for a third gen for $150.

I've went back to wood for a while but it's not forever. I have a Rhino shaft and I really like it a lot. I played with it for probably a year. I recently (3 months ago) switched back to my old McDermott with a wood shaft because I missed playing with it.
I will go back to my Diveney paired with the Rhino one of these days. The Rhino will fit on both cues but the McDermott is a little butt heavy so it doesn't feel as good with the CF.
Honestly I have very little trouble switching between any shaft or cue so it's not a huge deal. The CF is a bit different but if you keep the tip in a dime of the center and develop a stroke it really doesn't matter. There are a couple of shots that require throwing the CB that I can't do with the CF but they rarely come up, and truthfully when they come up you would probably be better playing safe anyway.

Never switched, never plan to unless I’m homeless living in my backseat w 15 degree weather. I’ll stick with my wood Searing w ivory ferrule and Rundes w Micarta!

I really like the Jacoby Black V4. However the Jacoby is not one of the OP's listed choices. Would be a good addition to the list though!
I like my Rhino must shaft on my Jacoby cue. I also like the Jacoby kielwood and ultra shaft on it. Mostly play with the Kielwood shaft that I added .3 oz to at the joint. Lately I've been playing more with the Must shaft. I like the Must shaft better than my regular Rhino shafts as it is a little more forward balanced. I've also added an 8g weight at the joint and weighted the cue to my liking. I did not like carbon shafts till I figured out how to get the balance I wanted, but now I play much more consistent with it. I actually think why some seem to struggle shafts has more to do with the balance of them vs the shafts they used before. The Rhino Must shaft is a great shaft.
