Carlo Biado is World #1

Maybe I misunderstood your point, but you bringing up your SL2 teammate certainly came off as downplaying Biado's ability/accomplishments.

You did misunderstand my point. The point was that rankings don't mean a damn thing.

Bergman beat Biado at Hard Times, does that mean Bergman is a World Champion now?

Uh, non sequitur.

Bergman isn't the one who is ranked #1. Biado is.

So if you think that "rankings don't mean a damn thing", you think Bergman is better than Biado based on his victory at Hard Times?

You should change your username to Drax. Apparently everything goes over your head.

My comments on this thread have nothing to do with Shane or Bergman. They have everything to do in defense of Biado. Do you think Biado is deserving of the #1 rank or not?

How much did Shane win at the USBTC? Ko Pin Yi pocketed 40k for his win. Purely from a money stand point, Shane should have been in the Phillipines.

Shane won $7,475 at the USBTC (if my numbers are correct).

Winning more than that at the WPA 10-Ball required finishing in the top 4 (or maybe in the top 2 after expense differences are factored in).

We don't really know Shane's reason(s) for not going to the WPA event. Perhaps it was just loyalty and fulfilling a commitment rather than anything having to do with money. But it could have been a mixture of a lot of factors.

These results are based on what these players DID as opposed to what they MIGHT DO, so they obviously have some merit. However they are clearly not a great measure of who the best player in the world is.
If they were I can guarantee you that Dennis Orcullo would not be listed behind at least a few of the top 9. I highly doubt that some of the guys ahead of him on the list would argue that fact.

Of the WPA #1 rank? Sure. He played in the silly events.
If you're insinuating that he's the #1 player in the world. Then no.

Why are they silly events? The World Ten Ball which was just played had a much stronger field than the US Open.

What crack are you smoking???

I just reviewed the players for both and at BEST, the world ten ball had as good a field, but assuredly not better, and sure as hell not dramatically better and it had a lousier format and shittier tables...

Don't bother arguing. My spidey-senses think he just doesn't like Shane.

None of the top players from Taiwan or China showed up to the US Open. They were all at the World Ten Ball. You mean to tell me their presence makes no difference in the quality of the field. Race to 11 alternate break is a lousier format? I agree about the tables but it was still two top tier players in the finals. They adapted to the conditions.

Why do you have to answer every question with a question?
Why is the World Ten Ball a silly tournament?

Well, you asked why I mentioned the US Open. Which I didn't.
You then asked why I mentioned the strength of the field. Again, I did not.

Why do I think the world ten ball is a silly tournament? Good question.

Well, you said Carlo played in the silly events. So what does that mean?
