I searched around and saw some old posts with links to sites that werent around any longer.

Anyone know of a company/individual still making these? Pocket inserts or pocket blockers to turn a table into a makeshift carom game.

My son has interest and to be honest, it's something the both of us could learn together.

Contact Dan Bennicas..... he has info you can see on YouTube showing his sets and how they work.
Look for carom billiards pocket inserts and it should lead you there.
(They work very well)

It is sad to see that there is only one public table left in Colorado and it is in the senior center in Greeley.

I was about to suggest that you contact the Denver Athletic Club but from their web site it appears they no longer have any billiards of any sort.

While I think it is going to be fun and educational to have your table set up for carom, it really helps to play against better players (just like pool).

Actually there is some ppace called Q Billiards in Aurora... not a big place but the last time I went by they had some tables.

Just looking for a change for our table and practice. We need a bit of change to throw in a wrench to our daily routines and drills haha

Actually we have had 2 tables at the Greeley Senior Center for quite some time. We had the Gabriel heated table with Simonis and an old style unheated Brunswick with Royal Pro.

Recently, though, we received a donation of a beautiful heated Verhoeven, which has replaced the Brunswick, which in turn was sold off to a member.

So there are now 2 modern heated European style tables here in Greeley. You're all invited in for a visit. If you pm me ahead of time I'll even pay your $3 drop-in fee. Locals over 50 pay $24 per year to join the Senior Center and get unlimited play. In addition to the 2 Carom tables we have 2 10 ft. American snooker tables and 4 pool tables of varying sizes.

Do I know where to retire to, or what?

You could consider playing English billiards or Cowboy. The rules for Cowboy are on Wikipedia or here: http://www.onthebreaknews.com/Jewett4.htm

For English billiards, the rules are on-line and "how to play english billiards" into YouTube search will get you an introduction. English billiards on a pool table will be pretty easy but you will definitely learn new shots, cue ball control and first object ball control.

Q has one full size table for 3C and a number of smaller tables with slower cloth that are used for the Korean 4 ball game.

There are also pretty strong rumors that Mile High Billiards in Arvada has acquired 2 3C tables that they are in the process of preparing to install.

There was also a 3C table at a place called Hanks. A buddy of mine, who used to play there a lot, though told me that the table has been ruined by poor maintenance and he no longer will play there.

Mile High Billiards in Arvada has added two 10' Gabriels to their stable.

I played on one Monday and then the other today.

It was like being in heaven.
