Carom

We used to play a version of carom on a pool table with pockets using 2 red balls and a cue ball. You got points for hitting the reds with the cue ball, pocketing the cue bal off one or both reds. Does anyone have or a link to the rules and the pints awarded for each carom shot? I found them a while back but seem to have lost them. Can anyone help.

English Billiards, mentioned before, has two cue balls and a red ball. I suppose you could use a measles and a plain cue ball, along with the three. There are lots of videos of current champions on YouTube if you want to see how the big boys play the game. I think a run (they say "break") of 500 has been shown recently. Here is a match in which they play a number of games to 100 points each:

Two other games that involve similar shots are Cowboy and Reverse Pool. I just covered Cowboy in a Billiards Digest column and it is covered by Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_pool

Another game is reverse pool. You score by cueing object balls to scratch them off the cue ball.

All of these games will teach new skills.
