is there anything you can put under a goldcrown to prevent the carpet from being " ringed " under the feet?

Yes there is, there have been posts and pictures of a home made item. Think a circle of plywood and roofing nails.

RealKingCobra had some posts of this.

Under where the feet will be, you can make a small slit in the carpet so the feet sit on the floor beneath the carpet (which also makes it easier to level the table). If you move the table later, there are several methods of repairing the slits.

But aren't you going to be off on the height of the table?

Ex-Fatboy GC4's new home. 25'x15' area ready for RKC install.

RKC's innovative solution for carpet allows the mechanic to level the table immediately and when the table is eventually moved there will be no damage to the carpet.
