Does anyone have recent knowledge of whether or not pool cues in their cases are allowed as carry ons or not? A couple of years ago I thought they were not allowed, but many players did carry ons, so is it the whim of the security folks?
Thanks
Bob

cues not allowed

cues are not allowed even if in their cases, locked secured etc. They all have to be checked in, and if you want to try while in front of TSA and no bag available for travel or check-in, then you will better have UPS on speed dial for shipping to your destination.

This topic is brought up every year before the BCA tourney.
Airlines consider pool cues to be classified as a weapon. You can not under any circumstance, carry it on the plane, unless you have your own private jet of course.;)

Even if the cue/case is inside a suitcase, they have to be checked. Under no circumstances may they be carried on.

There is a exception, if you buy your own jet then its fine. Bring as many cues as you like.

TSA pisses me off, a alumin cane is legal and would be a better tool than a cue would ever be to whack someone over the head with, dumb ass Govt rules. It needs to be repealed.

At least adjusted. How ya doin', Eric?

Airlines are assholes
My friend brought nail clippers and they took it away from her and tossed it because it totally can be used for a weapon LOL.

Must be diff rules in airports as I brought my clippers and no problem, just had to put my grooming items (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, twezzers etc.)out where they can see them in zip lock baggies.

fair, 24 months with more expensis than income, so i'm pretty stressed.

back is better, but not good enough for the gym, but I can drive 90% of the time, a airplane trip i need a day or 2 to recover. Where as before I was a full blown cripple

pool game is going sideways, not getting better but not weaker-so thats ok.

Thats all I can think of right now, I sure could use a vacation out of America for a month to anywhere-nothing fancy, just different air.

thanks for asking,

my very best
