Good day,

I am starting this thread from a previous thread earlier on a members interest in buying a new case.

I just recently purchased a Talisman 3X5 original black/green case and just wanted to post pictures so anyone who was interested would have a better idea of the quality and looks of Tony's great cases. I am not at all affiliated with his company what so ever.

Sorry if the pictures are blurry and hard to see. :(

Cheers.

I see that the carabiner have been upgrade and they look stronger.
I also know that the interior and the tube padding has been improved.

My case was one of the first Talisman cases that came with PVC tubes.

This is how my case looked when it was "new"

Skor,

You are indeed correct. The interior and tube padding have been upgraded and the clasp or carabiner seems strong enough to hold the weight of this case.

Cheers.

Thanks for the pictures guys.

Carpe, could you post a picture of what the inside looks like now?

After looking at both it's hard to say if the inside is any different
than Skor's case. Hard to tell really?

Those are great pics of the Talisman case. I need to do the same with my Murnak.

The problem for me when evaluating cases that I personally haven't handled is that no matter how vivid the pics are you really can't tell just how sturdy the construction is, how thick the leather, how heavy the case etc. For example, the smaller pouch/pocket at the top of this case is symmetrical and all but I wonder if that flap will hold up for years? Same question regarding the piece of leather that functions as a hinge for the lid. Is it thick with heavy stitching ?

I'm not criticizing this case at all. I HAVE bought a similar case from another manufacturer sight unseen and ended up with a flimsy product. This is what you cannot tell from pics.

Finally, I've decided that I would rather lug around more weight and have heavier construction. I guess with plastics and space age materials a light case can be made to last forever but I still like heavy leather and brass rivets etc. I would be very interested to hear a review addressing these features...Tom

Do the cues bounce around in the Talisman? I like the felt lined tubes in the Instroke. It just seems that the interior of an Instroke would protect the cues from wobbling around in the case. I tried to find a nice picture of the interior of an Instroke, but came up dry. If someone could post the interior of an Instroke, that would be nice.

Tom,

To answer your questions this case is heavy and sturdy. The leather is quite thick from what I can tell and the thich heavy stiching is rugged and
IHMO looks nicer than tooling (i.e instroke).

As well, the piece of leather in the back that acts as a hinge for the lid is fastened by 6 brass rivots as seen in one of the above photos. No worse or better than a Instroke I would imagine? And feels quite tough.

Mantool,

I can't speak for Skor's case but my shafts and butts are in the holes very snug and smooth and I bleieve if you go on the website and read the description of the case it mentions the tubes are lined with felt as well but regardless these cues aint moving around even a little.

Hope this helps. Cheers buddy.

Paul.

The difference is in the tubes padding of the two cases is that mine (the older case) is padded with soft leather for the top 5 (or so) inches and rest looks like some kind of smooth fabric like the interior "walls" of the case while the newer cases (that I've seen in person) had some kind of a fabric like the Instroke only thinner.

When I shake my Instroke you don't here the cues "rattle" inside while they do in the Talisman and other high end cases I've seen... this drives me mad... I don't feel safe when I here those cues rattle.... to me that the sign for a protective case.

I think that you can't go wrong with either Instroke or Talisman.

As I stated above the Talisman was 370 US shipping and taxes included so it's slightly cheaper than the Instroke and it came with 9 Talisman Water Buffalo Tips, a golf shirt and hand towel. From the testimonial feed back on the tips some players compare them to moori so I thinks it's a pretty good deal overall.

Cheers all.

Paulie

My Talisman case. It says "Linda ' Wonder Woman' Carter" on the back. Mike, my husband has the green/black model too, with "Z-Man" embossed down the back. They are great cases. I love the double straps which come in handy like in Vegas at BCA Nationals!

This was my first case which was custom made to be extra long. I have another one now with a slightly different color of leather and shorter. It is the 5/3 case as pictured in previous posts.
