saw the sneaky pete kit and thought someone may be interested in trying to make their own case.....it will be for a 2x4 tube style case.
kit will include
-tubes and felt to line the tubes
-precut leather for body of case, back panel, lid and bottom, strap and handle. pockets optional depending on your skills.
-rivets and hole punch for rivets, also tools required to set the rivets
-dye color of your choice and desired finish.
-edge burnisher
-silver,brass, or copper nails for lid to match the rivets you pick
-wood for lid and bottom of case of course
-snaps for lid and tools to set them.
-small rubber square so you dont put your tools through the leather and damage your tool or your workbench.
-felt for inside of lid also, you will need to use an adhesive that will not be included because they wont let me ship glue, contact cement or rubber cement will work fine.
optional pockets will also need, punch for stitching holes, lace, and needles. if you are skilled enough or have access to something that will stitch a zipper in i can provide the zipper also. we will have to talk so i can explain what will be required and if you feel like trying to do a pocket. i want you to be successful of course.
i will also answer all questions that you have so i guess you can say ill be technical support. since you will have most of the tools required after the purchase i can send additional leather or explain the dimensions if you want to keep producing cases.
also if you would like to get into tooling i will need to talk to you and explain what will be needed for that and the additional cost would vary on what you would like to do. mallot and marble slab would be required also depending on the tools for what you would like to do, instructional books on tooling available also.
basic kit with all tools required 250 bucks...additional leather and tubes for another case would be 100 for each case. each kit price will vary depending on what you would like to do.
please email me at chazdillon@aol.com or call me anytime. i would like to talk to any serious buyer before the purchase to answer all questions and inform them of things that they may need to know.
thanks
