i havent seen any threads for questions on case making. I am starting my self and have been practicing some tooling and now i need to start constructing. anyone out there to give me some pointers?

main question is how the inside of the "pro lite" style cases are done inside. other than that if anyone has a cheap justis style case they wanna sell let me know. Im currently making myself a swift style envelope case. its fast and a little cheaper to make than the tube style. and i need a new case asap.

once i have a few made ill post pics and see if anyone is interested in one. I will be making mostly 2x4 to start with and envelope style cases. custom size pockets for those of you with jump cues or anything u want. i will be compiling photos to give different patterns, lettering, colors, etc....

thanks

You need to buy some cases and take them apart to see how they are made. Are you looking to make cases because the craft calls out to you? Or are you just looking to make a quick buck? It doesn't sound good when you see someone use the words "Fast" & "Cheaper" in describing what is to be their work.

haha i know. believe me it will be top notch work before i sell one to anybody. ive always been good with things like this so maybe it is my calling. ive spent many hours already practicing tooling and i have had alot of people tell me its good but i still see inperfections so i keep working on it. i am taking some lessons from an expert leather worker also.

i see alot of cases today dont have much to them. just some simple single use tools creating a pattern down the center of the case and along the stitch or rivets. I have looked at many cases and taken a few apart but i want to do things the way i think are best. i have had a nice case put dings in shafts before so i dont want to do the cheap way out. it will be top quality components and craftsmanship or ill throw it away and start over.

Im not saying that i wouldnt like to sell one in the future because that would sound rediculous. but for now i am making one for myself and some friends that will be playing alot of the tour stops so i want my cases to make a very good first impression. and if someone comes along and wants one then ill be happy to make it for them. and i believe that if your selling something with your name on it. it better be good because word spreads fast. especially here on az. thats why i want to create something that people would be proud to own and that i can stand behind.

about finished with my first envelope style case. it going to be for me and i made it over the past few days. i still have some alternate color lacing to go around the edges left to do. other than that if anyone has any pointers or anything that would make it better let me know.

thanks
pics coming as soon as i get the camera to work :o(

PM JB Cases on here. He's a case maker with his own company, and is a very friendly & helpful person.
