You don't really want to upload pictures at full resolution anyway as it will take way too long to upload and the higher resolution is not noticed on a computer screen, only if you are printing pictures out on a photo printer. You will not notice a difference in a picture posted at 800x600 or one at full resolution on a monitor.
You can open them in any editing software, Paint comes with Windows, and change them to 800x600 or so, then save it and then direct upload it.

the higher resolution is not noticed on a computer screen,

It sure is if you zoom in.

I can't tell you how many pictures of cues I have saved on my computer. One of my pet peeves is low res images. A lot of the time we are talking about very tiny details here, and blowing it up to see it better sure helps.

OK let me rephrase that, you are not going to really tell the difference posted for general use on a discussion board in the resolution if done right and if posted too large can slow loading times down for ones that dont have dsl or cable. You cant zoom in on a posted picture unless you copy it to a imaging program.
Nobody posts images on Ebay to sell items in full resolution, you cant even unless you use outside hosting as Ebays software automatically reduces it.

For example, one of these has been reduced to 800x624 and the other is original size 1728x1647. You cant tell too much difference at all but the larger one is 4 times the size of the smaller one.

Your posted pictures of that sewing machine uploaded with the direct upload below fine and look plenty clear enough for the purpose of posting them on a forum.
