chalk holders?

Good question. I bet they trust the chalk put out on the tables. Bad practice in some pool halls though... Ever come across chalk that wasn't quite right?

Maybe they have a better memory than me. I only use a chalk holder because with it I remember to chalk every shot.
 
It may be a sponsor issue.

I would also like to know why there was blue chalk on a light tan table?
 
I think it has to do with the equipment. When they play, all the gear is in top shape. When we (as in, non-pros) play at a local tourney, the chalk usually sucks. Its had drinks spilled on it; someone has tried to burrow a hole through to the bottom; etc.

Pro snooker players always carry around their own chalk.
