Been about 3 months-ish since switching to TP7500, which has proven to be a reliable and very nice chalk. Completely agree with my original analysis that it is softer than Taom, so holds better to all cues, negating the need to use one chalk for playing, and one for breaking/jumping. As it is softer, I do make sure I clean the cueball every rack, but I wouldn't say it leaves any noticeable debris, or causes anymore or less kicks. Being softer, I am about one third of the way through it, as opposed to the other pieces I posted before that had about the same wear after a year. Given that it is softer, and I am using on both cues, I am happy with the durability (still don't know if you guys licking your chalk on the sly
)
I have always chalked away from myself, and have done for years. All my old pieces of Triangle from playing snooker use to look the same. But last night a few friends were ripping on me for the shape I create on my chalk
To be honest, given that two of them just dig holes in theirs, I don't think they have any right to... My other friend is the kind to make a perfect 'X' shape, and refuse to let anyone else use his chalk. Which is how I always start out, digging the corners, and shaping away from me. I don't want my hand or shirt getting chalk on it... but I always thought this is the cleanest, and most effective way to get the most out of a piece.
Just curious to see what some of you guys end up with, would love to see your cubes, cylinders, octagons... Seems a good way to kill time at work today
