Challenge Tables at the DCC

Greg's Suggestions and comments

Greg and I had a nice conversation about many things concerning the Derby City Classic.

I and others were complaining about not being able to sweat matches of the top players in the ACTION ROOM. I asked about assigning a couple of tournament tables for gambling but he cannot do this during the day or the tournament would be difficult to complete if gamblers were using the tables during the day. He did say after the tournament matches, AT NIGHT the tournament tables would be available for gambling and suggested that we could consider wooing the TOP PLAYERS/matches away from the close quarters of the ACtion ROOM by offering to pay for their pool time. That seems reasonable and I think a collection from the spectators could be made periodically to cover the costs of the table time.

I wouldn't mind making a contribution to watch a choice match in big tournament room with plenty of seating and room to stretch out.

I agree, in pricipal, with you as I often had to peer though the hall window to see how Cliff was doing. Only problem is that the bar is so far from the main room. Most of the spectators, and some players, were sitting around drinking and smoking while watching the games. That would probably not be allowed in the main tournament room. Also, there were some matchups in the main room.

Greg suggested that we persuade the players to move out to the main room for gambling. Probably a good idea but I'm guessing most would be resistant to going out front.

Gregg How about a wrong handed tournament? Guys having to playing with the wrong hand?

Or an 8 or 10 on the break tourny for the spectators? Draw names for a prize pool of $20.00 entries the winner gets so many breaks to make the eight ball or a ten ball rack? Have it and collect the entries and make it progressive until somebody makes it. It could run for days and get a huge pot!
