im wondering what thread i can change my uniloc shaft to?
5/16x18? 5/16x14? radial? 3/8x10??
are any of these options?
i have a z shaft that i cant use and was thinking of getting it changed to fit a future cue...

thanks for your time

let me rephrase then...

what can it be changed to without ripping the unilioc out, and re-filling the wood.

cuz im pretty sure i cant change it to 5/16 without filling the wood first

i live right down the road from mike webb, i wouldnt have anyone else do it.

im just looking to gather some info before i bother him with a thousand questions :)

thank you!

To be done correctly...the brass will need to be removed & then plug the hole with wood or phenolic & start fresh. Nothing wrong with that as long as its done properly.

You can change the thread to anything you want, but why not wait until you confirm your future cue and builder. Then just give him the shaft and let him fit it to your future cue. Why saddle him with a pin, joint dia., and ring configuration choice that you made 2 yrs. previous?

The only question that you'd have to ask Mike is if he has time to do this.
If you're fortunate enough that he says yes, give it to him & leave him alone until he tells you that it's done.
This wouldn't be Mike's first rodeo and I'm pretty certain that he's got more than enough experience to overcome your concerns.
And not to make light of your concerns, to you they are very real. But to a pro, this is cake.
