Changing my pool cue from Predator to Mezz

I have been playing with sport2 for 3 years..I had bought a new one but now the 314 3 shaft is curved.
A friend told me that Mezz produced shafts with a carbon fiber inside the maple construction.. I am referring to expro and hybrid shaft.
My question is if expro or hybrid comes with unilock joint system? To use sport2 butt...if not: is right decision to buy a new Mezz cue?
Thank you

Yes, those shafts come in different joint configurations.

Very good decision from my personal experience. Mezz makes great playing cues. I've played with nearly everything and recently purchased a Mezz from a board member with the Ignite 12.2 shaft and it is absolutely phenomenal, a real noticeable difference.

What he said. Be warned... I was going to buy a Predator Z3 from this website with the Mezz Wavy joint. It however was no longer available when I was ready to pull the trigger. No telling how much availability the odd ball shaft/joint combos will have.

As far as switching from Predator to Mezz.... Probably the best move you could make. Besides, if for some odd reason you end up regretting your choice. You can replace the Sport2 the next time you go to the corner store for some milk. Predator is everywhere, and Mezz still seems to be the best keep production cue secret out there.

Only Mezz wood shafts they offer now are hard maple, sigma and ex pro. You can still get the 700/900 on sale as they are closing these out. Too bad they don't make the HybridPro(first version) anymore. I've got one and think its the best wood shaft they've ever made. Mezz makes very nice stuff. QC is second to none imo.

Yep, agree on all points here. The secret is getting out there though. I’m the type of person that always expects to be underwhelmed when I get something, but the Mezz cue absolutely blew me away.

Mezz is excellent but their tapers can be weird. So just make sure you are good with the taper of whatever shaft you purchase. I was going to get an ex-pro but after talking to the dealer I ordered a sigma due to the pro taper it had.

First time I've heard this... Can you expand on what you mean by "weird"...?
Each shaft can have it's own taper. Hybrid, conical, pro taper etc. The only two that have a long pro taper that I am aware of is the sigma and the ignite.

Oh I thought you were suggesting that two shafts of the same model would have varying tapers. I misunderstood

Sorry should have formulated my statement differently. Mezz has some very good Q/C you will be pleased I think. My 30 inch sigma is my main player.

I bought a Mezz to try.. without doing much research I got the wxAlpha shaft. It’s a more conical tapered shaft. I hated it, but loved the hit of the Mezz… I then got a WX700, love the shaft taper love the cue!!

Pretty much everything made in Japan is high quality from my experience. The Japanese culture teaches you to take pride in your workmanship, among other things, because it is a direct representation of Japan.
Mezz/Exceed cues are exceptionally crafted and definitely hold their value.
