Cheap way to burnish cue shaft

I didn't know the answer, burnishing was the word I was looking for but couldn't think of it so I used quotations on sand. Your answer was helpful though. Have a good day sir.

Wood turners have burnished with paper bags for decades, at least.

The first mention I saw of it compared to 2800-3000 grit wet-and-dry.

As to your previous post. Let us all be extremely thankful that the Language Usage Police

Perhaps you should have made your enquiry on a Pool discussion forum,
if you can find one.

So, I have a door ding in my nice new Nissan and I figure I'll visit AutoZone for one of them there ding pullers "As seen on TV" (and yes, I tried the hair dryer compressed air trick) and also figured I'd pick up some 2000 grit sand paper for me cue work and... low and behold... they now have, courtesy of 3M, a *5000 grit* sandpaper foam pad thingie that I promise you will give your cue that baby bottom soft finish we all want.

It's the nuts. Go now.
