Chia-Ching Wu at the US Open?

So I was watching a repeat of the World Pool Masters (?) on Billiard Club TV, local coverage, and I could have swore that the tournament highlights for WU had him winning and being the runner-up at the US Open. But when I go to the Accu-Stats catalog, Wu is not listed in any of the tapings. Mistake or did I see something wrong?

Has Wu been over here in the states before? Looks like maybe at least once for the BCA. It's probably not cost-efficient for him to come over and we don't have anyone over here throwing around oil money to attract players.

He also came for one or two of the IPT tournies where he did not fare that great.

Still he is a champion's champion. The year Alcano won the WPC, Wu got knocked out real late 1/4's or 1/8th's on 2 Multiple ball breaks with squatted whitey where whitey got kicked in for a scatch. I think it may have even been against Alcano.

No way do I bet against Wu, ever.

How can you ever bet against Wu? The kid won the world pool championships a couple of years ago when he was SIXTEEN! Damn at that age, I was probably scheming on how to get alcohol.

I saw that as well. what they did was (if you check) put up Alex P's credentials on Wu's name. When i saw that as well i was like what wait a sec that is not right, but i checked it out because i knew when Alex won the open and if you remeber he came in second in the worlds and then won it the next year.

Thanks. That makes perfect sense.

It would be nice to see Wu come to the US Open. Not sure though if it's anymore prestigious than events in his world area or if the competition is any better considering how strong Taipei players and Pinoys are these days.

He made $8,881, won 6 matches, had a 57.76% winning percentage and had 19 B&R's in the one event he played in the IPT.

Not as good as we might have expected for sure, but not terrible. Alot of those brackets got pretty tough where you had 4 champs and one was going out for sure.

If you look up the list on the IPT website of the players and the winning percentages Wu's 57%+ winning percentage is better then at least half of the top 20 players on the rankings. The way the tournaments went you could not have that one slipup bracket round or that was it.
