I was just curious as to if anyone here lives in this area? I am just really getting into playing pool. However, come to find out I am the only person I know who wants to play pool everyday. So does anyone live around here? It would he cool to have some one around here to play with every now and then.

Also, does anyone know of any pool places around here other than bars? I know there are some in Columbus Ohio, but that is still 45 mins away or so.

Thanks!

Yeah, I pretty much figured that. However, I have a 3 year old which I have shared parenting of. So moving is not really an option. I guess I am sticking to playing pool in the bars. Where is the best place to play in Columbus? Do they sell cues?

Well honestly been awhile since i been in columbus. But players billiards on main street, sportsmans on sullivant ave, 8-ball sports bar, there is a place in lancaster called victory billiards thats pretty much a bar but they used to have decent tournies. Actually there was a place in chillicothe called "the last stop" it was a bar but they had some good tournies there.

Cornfed reds was pool heaven back in the day, but i think it went to crap don't quote me on that. But if you ever check it out go in the daytime. It's on chatterton road, if it's still open. You can google these places and find out specifics on them.

If i was you i would play as much as i can in chillicothe through the week and look up tournies to go to in columbus on the weekends. Im sure some of these places sell cues but i would call and find out first.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. The last stop is where I go during the day to practice and also every other weekend to drink. It is really the only place to play in town besides the Moose. The Last Stop is a dollar a game though. So that is getting pretty expensive. I am trying to become a member at the moose as we speak. They only have two pool tables there but its only a quarter a game there. Plus, they also have a tournament every tuesday. I dont think they are that big but they still have them. So that would be nice during the day. I have not heard about any tourneys at The Last Stop though? Maybe I will ask tonight since I am going there tonight to shoot some pool and drink a couple of beers.

Yeah, I have started a thread for buying a cue here. I have got some pretty great offers. A few schons in the 350-400 price range. Do they all pretty much play the same? I am debating on buying a schon or just going to the only chillicothe dealer we have here and buying a lucasi and then trying to get a 314 shaft for it. Or I have also got some offers for a couple of new joss' in that price range as well. What do you guys think?

Well it's been about 3 or 4 yrs ago since i went to the last stop. The tourny was 8 ball on wed nights and if i recall they had a break and run contest that used to get up into the thousands!

If they stopped having that tourny i don't know. But if they did you could always suggest to them to start it back up.

Oh and if i had to recommend a cue i would recommend a mcdermott! But that's just me. In my opinion they hit as good as any cue out there.

Cornfeds did go to crap and has been closed for 5 months or so. It used to be the nuts when that one guy used to run the show.... He was a bad dude!

Players in whitehall is a good spot, sportsmans on sullivant is a good room.

The guy who used to run that room was a douche. No one liked him, but what was his name? I can't remember.

There were 20 or so other guys that fit your description Beav. The guy I'm taking about was the bad mofo that always straightened out the messes the douches left. He was the greatest!

Yeah, I asked around there when I was at the last stop this weekend. They for sure do not have tournaments there anymore.

I am now a member at the moose though. Quarter a game. You cant beat that. Also, they have a tournament every friday night. From what I have heard its ok showing too. I am not sure what the average player count is, but I will find out.
