The year of this video, Yang was the favorite in the betting lines to win it all. At that time he was the best player in Taiwan by everyone's account.

A little gossip from back then. Around that time, Yang's girlfriend was stolen by H K Hsai, another excellent but slow TW player

H K Hsai used to be one of the best players in TW back then. I think he quit pool, went back to get his university degree, and then joined the financial world at entry level.

Yang has been one of the best players in the world for almost a decade. His skills are there but for some reasons he is still not reach his potential yet.

It may have been his IPT experience that made him quit. IIRC which is only 50%, he played in only the event that had the long delayed payment.
