Chip Tournament

Can't say I've seen a local singles chip tournament recently, but here's how Skinny Bob's does a Scotch doubles chip tournament.

I'm confused. Did the teams with fewer wins finish ahead of you by playing fewer games? If so, the scheduling is broken.
It’s because winner stays on. So if you have a real fast player they can play 4 games whilst another player has just done 1. If he loses his 4th and they lose the 1st then they are both 1 life lost but one guy has 3 wins, the other none

So the best strategy is to beat people as slowly as possible?

Chip Tournament is just IMHO something I do not grasp, use to long ago go to weekly 9 Ball Bar Tournament that went to we hours of morning. Bar's owner idea was to drag the event out as long as possible to increase drink sales. BOOZE sales.

You paid your entry, joined side pot if you choose, and most of the time at Tournament Ended you were paid for 1st., 2nd., or 3rd. Place.

Sometimes the turn out was poor, and only two places were paid. Have not figured out how “CHIP” have a value, and how payouts in real cash is made? In Chip Events?

If you were really intending to win the event, then yes. But our event is more of a casual affair and gets people playing with different levels. Also à naturally fast player won’t win as easily if he is slowing himself down .
That’s why I mentioned the option to have some of the prize money to the most wins as well as last man standing

Maybe you could have all the early finishers do something fun on the tables until everyone has finished the round. If that's not possible, then I agree with rewarding most wins.

I think there are chip tournament formats that arrange equal numbers of games.
