Chips in the cue finish

Does anybody know how I can try to cover up small chips in the finish of my cue? Unfortunately it's near the collar on the butt and I was wondering if I could put something on it like a polish or wax to conceal most of it. I obviously don't want to sand it.
Also does anybody use anything to shine up the finish on their cues years after they have had them refinished?
Thanks

If you have good hands and good eyes you might be able to float a partial drop of superglue off of a toothpick onto the bare area. It won't be perfect but if done correctly it will protect and look ok without sanding. Behlen makes a polish called "Oz" that works nicely for cues. You wipe a small amount on with a paper towel, wait a few minutes and buff. Good luck. Martin

A little elmers glue mixed with sanding dust makes wood putty as close to the color you'll find. Use sanding dust from the same wood you are filling. Let a little dry to check the color. If it dries dark add a little dust from a lighter piece.
